As the company scaled, it faced increasing challenges in managing and distributing critical business and marketing information to its network of dealers, distributors, and partners. The existing system was cumbersome, time-consuming, and inefficient. Trex’s partners often struggled to locate and access the information they needed, leading to delays and lost productivity. Additionally, the company lacked a centralized way to target specific content to different partner groups, such as deck installers versus distributors. Trex needed a robust, streamlined solution to provide fast, secure access to partner-specific content, automate the distribution of technical data and marketing materials, and reduce the effort required to manage this content.

The Solution

To address these challenges, Trex partnered with i3solutions to design and develop a secure, scalable Partner Portal. Built using the latest version of Microsoft SharePoint, the portal provides Trex partners with authorized access to marketing materials, product information, technical resources, and sales content. The portal offers a centralized content management system, allowing Trex to manage the development and distribution of partner-specific content with ease and precision.

The Partner Portal features role-based access control, ensuring that only relevant content is accessible to each partner group. The system automates the distribution of sales campaigns, product updates, and marketing collateral, allowing Trex to push targeted information directly to the appropriate audiences.

The intuitive user interface and single sign-on (SSO) functionality simplify the user experience, enabling partners to quickly access the information they need without navigating multiple systems.

In addition, the solution incorporates an advanced media library for managing and distributing marketing images, enhancing Trex’s ability to deliver visually appealing content to its partners. The project involved close collaboration between Trex, i3solutions, and third-party software vendors to ensure seamless integration of the portal’s components, resulting in a unified and efficient system. The portal not only improves operational efficiency but also positions Trex to scale its partner network while maintaining effective communication.

Entra ID ensures secure user authentication and role-based access control, allowing partners to access only the content relevant to their roles through single sign-on (SSO) while maintaining enterprise-level security.

SharePoint serves as the core platform for the Partner Portal, providing the foundation for secure content management, collaboration, and role-based access to marketing materials, product data, and technical resources.

SQL Server acts as the primary database for storing and managing partner data, marketing assets, and product information, supporting efficient queries, automated updates, and real-time content retrieval to enhance overall performance.
