Location: Sterling, VA with travel to client sites in Metro DC area and/or onsite client in Metro DC area

Description:

The SharePoint/.NET Consultant is responsible for critical activities on a technical development engagement.  Responsible for implementing solutions, designing code modules and defining system functionality, and developing and testing code.   Also responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a partnership with clients and create a positive relationship to clearly understand business processes, short and long-term business objectives, and functional goals
  • Develop design documents (i.e., technical specification documents, functional requirement documents, object modules, system test plans Improve operational margins through innovation and process engineering
  • Create development, testing and staging environments
  • Ability to support clients during project development, testing, deployment, and post deployment in-person, emails, and phone calls
  • Promote and use best practices for software development
  • Perform consultative post-sales role with customers regarding implementations, configurations and solutions
  • Possesses a knowledge base of each client’s business, organization and objectives to anticipate client’s needs and propose alternative business solutions
  • Use productivity tools such as configuration management tools
  • Manage projects through full project life cycle
  • Set and meet scheduled and self-imposed deadlines on multiple projects with little or no supervision
  • Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions
  • Work with manager and team members to ensure successful project roll-out that meets the project’s requirements
  • Investigate new technologies and methodologies
  • Help with the creation of client demonstrations for pre and post-sale activities
  • Provide additional consulting to improve customer service and enhance overall ROI to clients
  • Identify client’s business needs and potential sales opportunities
  • Assist in sales efforts from a technical perspective
  • Act as both a technical and / or professional mentor for more junior level consultants
  • May assist in technical recruiting

Technology Requirements:

Must show proficiency in some, or all of the following:

  • 5+ years SharePoint 2010/2013/2016/Online
  • 5+ years .Net (preferably C#)
  • MVC
  • Workflow tools (like K2/Nintex)
  • SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016

Additional Experience:

  • Understanding of enterprise architectures including scale-up and scale-out solutions
  • Understanding of load balancing and high availability solutions
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Understanding of web-based communication technologies (http, https, SOAP, REST, AJAX, Angular, etc.)
  • Understanding of virtualization (VMWare / Hyper-V)
  • Understanding of service offerings (cloud, hosted, on premise)
  • Understanding of data modeling / data layer build tools

Other Requirements:

  • BA or BS from an accredited college or university
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to read customers, anticipate needs and communicate clearly and effectively
  • Solid understanding of basic business concepts and practices
  • The ability to lead teams of any size
  • Ability to grow client into a major customer
  • Self-motivation, with ability to be effective team player
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from large groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • The desire and motivation to learn new technologies and to keep current with new technological products, trends and issues
  • Solid work ethic with a willingness to work overtime to meet client demands
