Most enterprise workloads now run in the cloud or sit on a plan to move there. Cost, elasticity and access to managed services are the usual reasons organizations are migrating systems and applications to the cloud. Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Azure is the platform most of our clients standardize on. Its platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offerings will host applications that were never developed in a Cloud-native environment, which is what makes a move viable before any rewrite is scheduled. The decision that matters is which applications move as they are and which get rebuilt Cloud-native, because that choice sets what the environment costs to run and how confidential data and systems are protected once they are there. Collaboration across locations and remote work come with the platform. The controls do not. Using Azure, i3solutions handles both the strategy and the implementation of an updated application, including the identity and data-protection work that decides whether a migration passes review.

Amazon Web Services

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a cloud platform spanning infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and packaged software as a service (SaaS), delivered from data centers worldwide. Government agencies, educational institutions, nonprofits and private organizations run production workloads on it. i3solutions works on AWS where an estate already includes it, and will say plainly when consolidating onto one platform is the better answer.

Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is built around open source, multicloud and hybrid deployment, so data and applications can run across more than one cloud or stay on premises. The Alfresco Digital Business Platform handles document-centric processes and the content behind them. MongoDB

MongoDB is the right call when the shape of a record keeps changing and a relational schema would have to change with it. It is a document database, with the querying and indexing to support that. MongoDB allows our Development Team to easily organize, use and enrich data in real time, anywhere. Data placement can be controlled by region, which matters when performance targets or residency rules dictate where records are allowed to live.

Spring

Runtime, programming model and architecture are chosen once and are expensive to reverse. Spring provides reactive support at every level of the stack: web, security, data and messaging. It covers configuration, security, web applications and large data workloads inside one framework, which is why we reach for it when a client estate is Java rather than .NET.

JavaScript, Angular, and jQuery

JavaScript is the language of the browser, used by our developers to add behavior, hold state, and handle requests and responses on a website. Anything on a page that updates, responds or animates rather than sitting still is running JavaScript.

Angular compiles templates into code optimized for current JavaScript virtual machines, giving the output of hand-written code with the structure of a framework. It carries the same productivity and scalable infrastructure from a prototype through to a global deployment, and it is what supports Google’s own largest applications.

jQuery is a fast, small, and feature-rich JavaScript library. It makes things like HTML document traversal and manipulation, event handling, animation, and Ajax much simpler with an easy-to-use API that works across a multitude of browsers. It is still present in a great many inherited codebases, which is where we most often work with it.

Docker

Docker standardizes development environments, so a developer joining a project is productive without rebuilding a machine first. It removes the dependency conflicts that otherwise differ from one workstation to the next. Containerization lets our DevOps teams deploy more often with less variance between builds.

Elasticsearch

Our Developers use Elasticsearch to perform and combine many types of searches, structured, unstructured, geo, metric, any way you want. It is a search and analytics engine that stores the data centrally and returns results fast enough to sit behind a user-facing application.

Hadoop

The Apache Hadoop software library is a framework that allows for the distributed processing of large data sets across clusters of computers using simple programming models. It is designed to scale up from single servers to thousands of machines, each offering local computation and storage. It detects and handles failures at the application layer rather than relying on hardware for high availability, which is why it appears in estates where the data has outgrown a single server and the cluster underneath is ordinary hardware.

HTML 5 / CSS3

HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) are two core technologies among others that are used by i3solutions’ Developers to build Web pages. While HTML gives the basic structure of the web page, CSS provides a variety of devices for the layouts. Together they give our web developers the means to set headings, body text, lists, tables, images, layouts, colors and fonts, and to keep the result accessible and maintainable after handover.
