Description:

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall supervision, project execution and profitability of a major Department of Defense engagement. The Project Manager is focused on the project management process, business analysis, solution generation, customer satisfaction and account management. Overseeing a multi-disciplinary staff, the position is responsible for leading, motivating, and mentoring his or her team.

Responsibilities  

  • Ensure successful project execution across multiple projects
  • Achieve pre-determined profitability levels for all projects
  • Ensure corporate quality assurance standards are met for all projects
  • Coordinate the creation of the Project Charter including baseline scope, schedule, budget, etc.
  • Ensure client status reporting meets approved contract requirements
  • Provide first level escalation for project or customer issues
  • Identify gaps in stated requirements and actual business needs
  • Perform requirements gathering and analysis
  • Develop and implement test plans to ensure successful delivery of a project
  • Accurately determine, assign, track and manage project task, activity, documentation and time information per internal standards
  • Manage variance on scope, schedule budget and create change requests and coordinate communications with client and management specific to assigned projects
  • Assess the impact of issues in a timely manner and communicate with internal and external teams to ensure “no surprises” execution of plan
  • Identify sales growth opportunities and provide experiential knowledge during the development of technical solutions, i3solutions competitive advantages, and cost estimation
  • Develop and cultivate client relationships at management and executive levels to grow long-term relationships and capitalize on equity and partnership opportunities
  • Develop a partnership with client and create a positive relationship to clearly understand processes, short and long-term objectives, and functional goals
  • Provide additional consulting to improve customer service and enhance overall ROI to client
  • Participate in resourcing decisions as well as assist in interview process and recommendations for hire
  • Perform consultative post-sales role with client regarding implementations, configurations and solutions
  • Continually seek and capitalize upon opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationship
  • Review high-level deliverables across team
  • Ensure quality assurance procedures are performed
  • Improve operational margins through innovation and process engineering
  • Consolidate and analyze profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization across the team
  • Help ensure team meets or exceeds budgeted financial objectives including revenue and margin, based on project charter
  • Successfully execute Corporate Project Methodology
  • Help to determine new, creative ways to employ teams on projects and distribute responsibilities
  • Help manage the development of team members by ensuring that project tasks are in line with employees’ career interests
  • Act as both a formal and informal mentor for team; coach and counsel on business, organizational and client relationship management

Requirements

  • TS/SCI Clearance Required
  • DoD approved 8570 Baseline Certification preferred
  • Department of Defense environment experience
  • BA or BS from an accredited college or university; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including clients, project team and other individuals within i3solutions
  • Apply strong business skills and methodologies to lead a team in the implementation of solutions to meet a client’s needs
  • Tactfully communicate sensitive information
  • Challenge others to develop as leaders while clarifying roles and responsibilities
  • Evoke creative and innovative thinking from team members while helping them to bring their ideas and career plans to fruition
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from large groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
